SELECTING MUSIC FOR A CIVIL CEREMONY
You
will need to choose three pieces of music for your Civil Ceremony;
one for the entrance of the Bride (Processional), the Signing of
the Register and for the Bride and Groom at the
end of the Ceremony (Recessional). It is probably worth bearing
in mind that the Processional and Recessional pieces of music will
be very short so you may wish to save your favourite song for the
Signing of the Register. Although you are not allowed to choose
any religious music there is still a huge choice available to you.
We have listed
below some ideas which are acceptable to the Registrars for a
Civil Ceremony. Of course, you are welcome to choose a song
which is not on the list, just let us know and we will advise you
whether it will be permissible to the Registrars and whether it
can be played on the piano. If you do not wish to choose the
music yourself, we will be most happy to do it for you.
